Plant Manager, Production Department Joined the company in 2012
A craftsperson at heart, Matsushita joined Senkosha after working as an automotive mechanic, aspiring to take part in manufacturing that turns ideas into tangible form. He was appointed plant manager in 2025.
Our job is to express the luxurious and distinctive atmosphere of various high-profile brand shops through our fixtures. In addition to delivering sophisticated designs and precise assembly, we take pride in our ability to respond flexibly to the unique needs of each shop, which I believe is one of our strengths.
For example, we often produce fixtures in bulk for delivery to multiple shops of a single brand. While the fixtures share the same design and finish, we make slight adjustments to their structure and assembly to facilitate easier delivery and installation at each location. In this sense, each item is custom-made.
Naturally, meeting deadlines is also crucial. When someone falls behind schedule, others step in to help, sometimes even putting their own work on hold. This kind of teamwork during challenging moments is deeply embedded in our culture. We never compromise on quality or deadlines, and always strive to meet the expectations of both our direct clients and the end clients—brand-name retailers.

At our plant, each staff member is assigned specific tasks and works on fixtures for a variety of clients. As plant manager, I oversee each member’s progress and inspect completed products. In addition, I procure materials, communicate with installation sites, and act as a liaison with the Administration Department, all while continuing to work on production myself.
Since becoming plant manager, I have focused on training junior staff and new employees. Together with mid-level leaders and junior sub-leaders, we work to create an environment that allows them to teach and learn from trainees. Guiding junior members gives trainers the opportunity to revisit the basics and deepen their own understanding. I also aim to broaden my perspective to remain attentive to the needs of every team member.
Our company’s onboarding programs are carried out based on an in-house manual developed by the staff. It covers plant rules, production procedures, and the operational steps for each processing machine, providing beginner-friendly explanations with photos and illustrations.
By following this manual, anyone can learn production skills starting from the basics. It also standardizes the training content, which might otherwise vary depending on the on-the-job trainer’s approach. This helps ensure consistency in both staff techniques and product quality.
Thanks to this well-established training system, built on the manual and on-the-job guidance, anyone with a passion for making things, even without prior experience, can steadily improve their skills.
Spending time in nature with my wife and friends helps refresh my body and mind. Thanks to the increase in company holidays, we can now plan overnight trips more easily.
I once took my father-in-law to F Village in Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido, on my day off. When I showed him a table crafted by our company, he was truly impressed. As our company manufactures fixtures not only for brand-name shops but also for familiar facilities and stores, I feel proud of our company and its contribution to society.
